Hexorium Nether Monolith is crystallized ore of Hexorium out of which the crystals can be obtained. The monoliths are added by HEXCraft.

Obtaining

Natural Generation

Hexorium Nether Monoliths spawn naturally in the Nether and can easily be identified by their hexagonal shape and characteristic glow-in-dark effect. For the counterpart that spawns in the Overworld, visit the Hexorium Monolith page. The spawning is done using a custom algorithm which prevents the monoliths from ever spawning inside rock and creating pockets of air. The monoliths will always spawn inside caves either on floor or ceiling. Do note that if no suitable spawn place is identified, a monolith might not spawn at all. Red, Green and Blue monoliths have a way lower chance to spawn than other colors. The table below shows the spawning rates.

Monoliths Red, Green, Blue White, Black
Layers 0 - 128 0 - 128
Per chunk <1 <1
Spawn chance <10% <50%

The monoliths can be mined using an Iron Pickaxe or greater. When mined without Silk Touch, the monoliths will drop raw Hexorium crystals. Crystal drop rate is increased depending on Fortune enchant applied to the pick. The table below lists the different drop rates. Again, Red, Green and Blue monoliths have lower drop rates.

Monoliths Red, Green, Blue White, Black
Unenchanted 2 - 4 6 - 8
Fortune I 4 - 6 8 - 10
Fortune II 6 - 8 10 - 12
Fortune III 8 - 10 12 - 14

Usage

Processing

Monoliths gathered using Silk Touch can be processed using the Crystal Separator. This kind of processing eliminates the random drop rates and makes the crystals always drop at same rates. These rates are higher than the maximum when using Fortune.

Lore

Hexorium Nether Monoliths are similar to Hexorium Nether Ore, but are actually highly concentrated pure Hexorium. This gives them the form of large hexagonal monoliths, sometimes seen throughout the Nether. They are much more rare than the ore, as they occur only under very high pressure.
