Usage
Energy Pylon is an important part of the HEX Energy Network as it allows for linking machinery and parts of the network over vast distances.
The pylons can be placed in all ways possible, provided that the block they are placed on is solid. They can be placed on ceiling, floor, and walls. A pylon on its own cannot do much because an Energized Hexorium Monolith has to be inserted first. Any color will do, but it is important to know that only same colors and rainbow can be linked with each other. To insert a monolith, simply right click on the pylon with the monolith in hand. Note that the monolith is consumed in the process. Breaking the pylon will result in monolith breaking too, dropping the raw crystals instead. To safely remove the monolith, sneak-right click on it with a Hexorium Manipulator. It is also important to note the central bubble which is created when a monolith is inserted. This central bubble is the point out of which the beams will be created and is also the part of the pylons that has to be visible when linking.
Linking pylons is simple, but a few things need to be kept in mind: only same colors can be linked and rainbow can be linked with all colors, the link can be no longer than 32 blocks (this can be configured), the link can go in any possible direction, there should be no obstructions between the pylons, and the number of links is unlimited but doesn't affect the energy transfer in any way. To link two pylons together, right click on the first one with the Hexorium Manipulator and then right click on the second one with the manipulator. If everything is done correctly, a link will form. The manipulator shows linking info in the chat during the process, alerting why a link was not possible to form. Note that if a block is placed between the two pylons afterwards, the link will still break. If one wishes to break a link manually, they can do so using the manipulator. Simply redo the linking process on two already linked pylons, and they will be unlinked.
To connect the Energy Pylons with Hexorium Cables, a Pylon Base is required. The pylon needs to be placed on the pylon socket for it to successfully link with the rest of the network. Please refer to the Pylon Base page for more info. When a pylon is used as an energy conduit like a repeater, it doesn't need to have a base as it won't be connecting to anything other than the next pylon via a beam. Similar to cables, Energy Pylons are also completely lossless and have infinite bandwidth.
Pylons can also be toggled using a Redstone signal. By default, they will be ON, but upon receiving a signal, they will turn OFF. When turned OFF, they are still connected with the pylons, but are temporarily ignored in the networks. This allows for creating switches, but also for creating interesting laser animations. The pylon will not lose links upon reactivation.

Lore
Energy Pylon is a rather complex device. The pylon was designed by CelesTek Technologies in a need to transport HEX energy over long distances. The device is composed out of an Energy Injector and a Pylon Socket. The socket is responsible for allowing the pylon to connect with the rest of the HEX Energy Network through a Pylon Base. The injector is responsible for controlling the resonance of the inserted Energized Hexorium Monolith and drawing/injecting the energy, thus connecting it with the rest of the network.
The injector is also responsible for creating the central bubble, also known as Equilibrium Void. This is the small crystalline structure that is created inside of the monolith. This part of the monolith is in fact vacuum and thanks to its completely centered position, it is also the focus of all energies. Because of this, all beams created between the Energy Pylons appear to go in and out from these bubbles.
The linking of pylons is performed using the Hexorium Manipulator. During the process, the manipulator will read the resonant frequencies of each monolith and then sync them up. These are tiny adjustments, so it is only possible to do this with the pylons of same color, as they have similar frequencies. Rainbow colors are special, as their frequency appears to be dynamic and changes with time. This allows them to be linked with all of the other colors.
